Gisteren is Fedora Core 6 eindelijk gereleased en vannacht heb ik m'n pc opgewaardeerd naar deze nieuwe versie. Vanmiddag is het me dan ook eindelijk gelukt om de kubus met desktops, 'wobbly windows', hippe app switcher, etc. aan de praat te krijgen. Compiz en AIGLX dus. Moest er wel de beta nvidia drivers met ondersteuning voor GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap voor installeren, maar het voelt allemaal erg snappy op m'n oude GeForce 4 MX 440 kaartje. Mijn pc is dus ook weer even hip!

Ik heb de film nog niet helemaal gezien, maar er is in ieder geval een hoop te zien dat een beetje lijkt te rammelen aan 9/11. Voor de liefhebbers is er ook een Nederlands ondertitelde versie.

Ik erger me altijd groen en geel aan hoe lelijk MySpace profielpagina's zijn. En dan blijkt Apple ineens MySpace profielpagina's gemaakt te hebben voor de blauwe, roze en groene iPod nano die niet lelijk zijn en ook nog eens hippe muziek draaien (Cut Chemist, Coldcut en Dr. Octagon momenteel). Bastards...
Gebruikers van OS X Tiger hebben ongemerkt een nieuwe feature gekregen. En gelukkig werkt 'Zoom Using Scroll Wheel' ook op mijn oudere iBook met de iScroll2 trackpad driver. Far out!
Wat je kan verwachten als je anno 2006 een weekendje naar Antwerpen gaat?
Muzak op het station, alle winkels die je in Utrecht ook hebt, satellietwagens op de Grote Markt, de Chicken Mythic, rare woorden voor normale dingen, "Ik vind je lief" op de kassa van de HEMA, Grand Bazars en Apple Centers, experimentele dans en De Kleine Post op de Groenplaats, de Schelde, een prima hotelkamer, maar wel een eindje lopen, een stadspark met een vijver zonder water, een tram die de verkeerde kant op gaat, een nachtbus waar niemand wat van weet, een feest ergens in een oud rechtsgebouw waar je toch niemand kent, Rubicon-sap, Sultana's als ontbijt, graafmachines in de zandbak, Spiderman op de gevel, 360º panoramafoto's en uitsmijters bij 't Brantyser, naar The Science of Sleep op zondagmiddag en een Pizza Hut met een lastige deur.
Inderdaad, flink de zere voeten waard dus.
